Hi, I'm Guven Kul Software Engineer

I build production desktop software in C# — WPF and Avalonia — for semiconductor metrology systems that measure chip features at nanometre scale. I care about reliability, clean architecture, and interfaces engineers can trust.

About Me

I'm a Software Engineer at Infinitesima, where I build and maintain production desktop applications for semiconductor metrology — the instruments chip manufacturers use to measure features at nanometre scale. Day to day that means C#, WPF and Avalonia, MVVM architecture, and a great deal of care about correctness: when this software is wrong, an instrument moves the wrong way or a factory receives bad data.

I hold a First Class BSc in Computer Science from Middlesex University. Outside of my day job I work across the stack — desktop, web, and the occasional game project — which keeps me sharp on how different platforms solve the same problems.

Software Engineer

Infinitesima · Abingdon, UK

Jan 2026 – Present
  • Maintain and extend Metron3D, a production C#/WPF (MVVM) application, owning features end to end from design through code review, testing and release to customer systems.
  • Primary developer of a WPF/MVVM desktop tool that sends image analysis requests to the Data Analysis service and visualises the results. Migrated it from .NET Framework to .NET 8 and built the Named Pipes request pipeline, covered by 64 MSTest unit tests.
  • Fixed a multithreading race condition that could send stale data to customers' factory systems (SECS/GEM), by moving event publishing off the main workflow thread.
  • Designed fail-safe collision-avoidance logic that blocks stage motion, backed by a 412-line unit-test suite.
  • Fixed a production crash during controller reboot, cutting the timeout from minutes to 5 seconds.
  • Built a Stage Mapping screen in WPF/MVVM with live status updates and command bindings to prevent operator errors.

Sep 2023 – Dec 2025
  • Sole lead developer of a Bug Report & Log Scraper tool, porting it from WPF to Avalonia (.NET 8) and cutting issue triage time from several hours to under 10 minutes.
  • Created and solely led a SECS/GEM log analysis tool (C#, WPF, MVVM) with a virtualised data grid, search and filtering, backed by 27 MSTest unit tests.
  • Authored the troubleshooting documentation adopted across the engineering and applications teams.
  • Solved log collection on live Metron3D machines by capturing files locked by the running application, and fixed resource leaks and a dialog-related UI freeze.

Personal Projects

Work I've built outside of my day job. The tools I've led at Infinitesima are internal and not publicly available — they're described in the Experience section above.

MyFolio

A cross-platform desktop portfolio application built with C# and Avalonia UI, using the same MVVM patterns I work with professionally.
